Removal of ClamAV !!

I have reported excess process running on my VPS resulting in clamd and Mysql termination frequently.

My web host has advised following:

It is advised that it would be preferable to uninstall ClamAV since CXS is already installed on the server. The working of both the applications is the same hence it is suggested to uninstall the ClamAV. We would request you to kindly give us the confirmation to uninstall the ClamAV.

Well! I am well aware of the reason I got cxs installed because there was no online protection available. So I don't see both cxs and clamAv being identical as described by my hosting support.
- Isn't clamAv a must have component for running cxs?

You need both. Signatures are only added to cxs if ClamAV does not already detect them so effort is not duplicated and so reducing overheads.
