/tmp got full

Hello,

The server's /tmp directory got full today and we couldn't empty it for a long time. Tried to restart apache, mysql, pgsql services what didn't solve the issue.

/usr/tmpDSK 485M 478M 0 100% /tmp

du -h /tmp
30M /tmp/

The issue was solved just after restarting of MailScanner.

/usr/tmpDSK 485M 43M 418M 10% /tmp

Could you explain please how it could happen and how to prevent this in the future ?

It's cPanel server with MailScanner - v4.84.3 installed.
CentOS release 5.7 (Final) - 2.6.18-274.7.1.el5.

This has nothing to do with MailScanner, so we cannot help with the issue here.
