Unrecognized character in /usr/sbin/csf line 3727

I am seeing this error message:

Unrecognized character \xF3; marked by <-- HERE after <-- HERE near column 1 at /usr/sbin/csf line 3727.

And CSF Firewall does not appear to be functioning.

I assume that the csf file has somehow become corrupted, but I don't know how to replace the file. I would like a way to fix this without losing my existing configuration settings.

My system indicates that I have version v12.06

This error has been showing up for about a week now.

I'm running CSF on a WHM/Cpanel system.

The simplest way would be to do a manual update which involves simply following the install.txt. This will not overwrite your configuration.
