Database problem

Post by rovinj »

Hello,
after update cPanel to 11.46.0.12 I'm receiving following error:
Nov 9 07:56:07 server MailScanner: Unable to initialise database connection: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)
Nov 9 07:56:07 server MailScanner: Could not use Custom Function code MailScanner::CustomConfig::InitMailWatchLogging, it could not be "eval"ed. Make sure the module is correct with perl -wc (Error: Can't call method "prepare" on an undefined value at /usr/mailscanner/lib/MailScanner/MailWatch.pm line 86.
Nov 9 07:56:07 server MailScanner: )

Tried to reinstall MailScanner Front-End, change MySQL root password and recreate database, but no success. Server is Centos 5.11. Any idea?

Are you saying that you've reinstalled the MailScanner Front End or MailScanner itself using the MailScanner Front End?

Check the MS.conf file around line 869 for the clamd socket setting.

You can also look at the following FAQs.

Otherwise I would consider reinstalling MailScanner.

We're running 11.46.0.12 but on CentOS 6.5 and haven't seen what you describe.
