I am hopeful to get info regarding my Technical Support company's comments when I reported my server email stopped working.

Them- I checked and it seems to be hanging when sending the mail. We will need to remove Mailscanner and reset exim to the defaults to be able to debug this further.

Them- This has been fixed now, please try it now. Exim is working fine now and mailscanner has been removed.

Me- what needs to be done to get mailscanner working?

Them- We can reinstall it if you would like but unfortunately since it is not a standard cpanel plugin it often stops working all of a sudden and causes the email to stop which is what happened here. For this reason, we don't recommend using mailscanner.

Please note that I have been very happy with the results using mailscanner.

Does anyone have any thoughts? Does mailscanner conflict with exim at times?

I'm not aware of any MS/Exim issues with reliability.

Have you been using the ConfigServer paid implementation of MS?

Early on (several years ago) with cPanel there were times when they would make changes to Exim creating issues with MS but Jonathan would quickly resolve those and the impact on MS was minimal. It seems some data centers still don't recommend using MS partly I believe based on resource usage.

We've been using MS with MailWatch for more than 10 years and find it an indispensable combination.
