Hello everyone, I set up CSF on my server that I plan on using to host a large Minecraft Server on.
I'm not sure of the best settings to use because I don't want it to start banning innocent IP addresses but still prevent attacks.
The Server will be holding ~100-150 people constantly, I am not using cPanel or any other web admin tool.
If anyone can recommend anything please reply back thanks.
Best Configuration for a Game Server?
Re: Best Configuration for a Game Server?
You can easily decide yourself, all you need to find how many concurrent connection are created by per client, what kind of port they use and you can hen decide you firewall policy. Certainly you need to block everything unwanted.
Re: Best Configuration for a Game Server?
Did you figure this out?
I have experienced CSF/LDF to block several Minecraft players on several locations without any reason. Only after whitelisting of one of the IPs all the others IPs were "released"... Nothing else was done other than adding (whitelisting) one IP.
The information I got from the customers was that both ftp, web and Minecraft was affected.
