CentOS 4.x to 6.x upgrade affects MailScanner?

Hi,
Does this OS upgrade on VPS affect the functioning of MailScanner in anyway? Any precautions that need to be taken?

We have had a few customers who had to reinstall MailScanner after an OS upgrade. Not sure why this is, may be a problem with the upgrade procedure. There is no issue with MailScanner with CentOS 6 itself.

CentOS themselves DO NOT recommend upgrading anything below 6 to 6.0+
Their official release notes state:
Upgrading from CentOS-4 or CentOS-5:
We recommend everyone run through a reinstall rather than attempt an
inplace upgrade from CentOS-4 or CentOS-5.
