Exim & spamd

Hello,

having just installed MailScanner on this server I checked exim logs and saw that it was complaining about not being able to connect to spamd

2011-10-10 14:31:29 1RDKdL-002fut-RF spam acl condition: warning - spamd connection to 127.0.0.1, port 783 failed: Connection refused
2011-10-10 14:31:29 1RDKdL-002fut-RF spam acl condition: all spamd servers failed
I checked /etc/exim.conf and saw that it was configured to use spamd

spamd_address = 127.0.0.1 783
SpamAssassin has been disabled in Tweak Settings and spamd has been disabled in service manager as the install docs states.

I tried removing spamd_address from exim.conf and regenerating exims configuration with /scripts/buildeximconf and the spamd_address variable came back.

Any ideas?

If you previously had cPanel's spamassassin enabled on this server or have transferred accounts from a server that did, you should check to make sure there is no .spamassassinenable file in any of the user accounts. See this post for the command to use:
