MailScanner Status: Disabled!

I have a server that's showing "MailScanner Status: Disabled! - you have either installed clamavconnector by mistake or incorrectly installed ClamAV" message in WHM.

i don't know why because the service is running fine:

Code: Select all

[root@nano ~]# service MailScanner status
Checking MailScanner daemons:
MailScanner (pid 19149 19109 19082 19081 19079) is running...
i got this after the latest MailScanner update. i have 5 servers, all running Centos 5.5, but only one is showing that error message.

any ideea why?

MailScanner - v4.81.4 installed
ConfigServer MailScanner Script - v2.78 installed and up to date
ClamAV - v0.96.3 installed and up to date
MailScanner Front-End - v4.30 installed and up to date

MailScanner processes may be running even though MailScanner is disabled, because chkservd will restart it. That does not mean it is working.

Did you check that someone had not installed clamavconnector or added anything about clamav to the exim configuration? This is usually what causes that error.

Sarah

no, clamavconnector is not installed.
and i found no "clamav" mention within /etc/exim.conf

This is not something we've seen before, where clamavconnector or some other clamav has NOT been installed but the mailscanner disabled message is showing. If you are still having this problem and would like us to take a look, please log a support ticket on the helpdesk.

Sarah
