I got the notice today that there was a clamav upgrade. So I logged into 3 of my servers to perform the upgrade. 2 are fine. One the clamd service keeps failing.

I have forced clamav update.
I have forced Mailscanner Update.
I have forced MSFE update
I have forced cPanel Update.

Nothing fixed this.

At the end of the clamav upgrade it says:

ClamAV update process started at Fri Apr 2 09:57:27 2010
main.cld is up to date (version: 52, sigs: 704727, f-level: 44, builder: sven)
daily.cld is up to date (version: 10695, sigs: 49556, f-level: 44, builder: ccordes)
bytecode.cvd is up to date (version: 5, sigs: 2, f-level: 44, builder: nervous)
`/usr/mscpanel/clamd' -> `/etc/init.d/clamd'
Stopping clamd: [FAILED]
Starting clamd: [FAILED]

When login to the server and run service clamd restart I get

Starting clamd: ERROR: Please define server type (local and/or TCP).

What is all that about?

Problem solved. I was running out of virtual memory on the VPS server so the upgrade was not working correctly.
