Hi folks,
CSF is simply the most useful application available for cpanel. That said, the ConfigServer Security&Firewall could be extended to end World Hunger, Purify water and end Hacker Crime.
Well, at least one of the three -- Here's my concept:
Using ConfigServer Security&Firewall, set up a central hacker IP activity database.
Include an option in CSF to allow for daily sending of the hacker IP's to the hacker repository DB.
I imagine the database could be trained to parse by type of block, such that different type of attacks are given different weight, etc.
Later as the repository is trained to consolidate and recognize trends, CSF could provide this to hosting companies or individuals for review.
It could be made easily searchable and be used by researchers to likewise identify hacker hotspots around the world -- which could then be routed off to world governments who can then take action-- i.e, terminate with extreme prejudice.
Later, this service could be made a by subscription service, such that you folks (makers of CSF) can make some major $$$ on your new virtually real time "Hacker IP subscription service."
Where better than by using CSF to become the end game for the spread of hack attacks and the like.
If we all send out block lists to the central CSF db daily, and then pay CSF folk a token subscription fee to keep the service going, we would all be happier hosting companies; and less vulnerable to scumbag hackers who are simply making our lives and the lives of our customers miserable...
Alternately, a small database application, built for hosts to analyze the hack IP "cloud" within the server farm and automatically distribute this list to all servers within the farm might likewise be a winner of an idea...
What you think?
Regards,
Jim
