Bad decision to remove it

Post by Claudiu »

I'm using csf for over 1 year. It's the best firewall.

SCRIPT_ALERT feature is crucial for me, I have no idea why it is removed on generic installation. Well, for old versions I added by hand to csf.conf these lines
SCRIPT_LOG = "/path/to/log"
LF_SCRIPT_ALERT = "1"
LF_SCRIPT_LIMIT = "my limit number"
LF_SCRIPT_PERM = "1"

and feature working perfectly.

Today I tried to install the new version 3.36 but the feature no longer working.
I noticed the LF_SCRIPT_PERM removal beginning with 3.30, I have uncommented those lines from lfd.pl but without to solve the problem.

I have version 3.13 and working just fine on my bare Fedora 8 & 9 servers.

Please advice. This feature is the best.

The feature is cPanel specific and has never been enabled for the generic version.

Why don't you add this feature for generic servers as well?

With that simple "hack" I was able to add the feature to generic version but no longer working and for me it's very important. I'm sure it will benefit a lot of users.
