Search by EMAIL ID not working.

Hello Sarah,
would you be kind to check the "Search by Email ID" in MailControl, please?

If I check on the /var/log/exim_mainlog for an Email ID, per example 1oTOGt-005qlz-KK, I can see all the related info, per example:
2022-08-31 08:00:46 1oTOGt-005qlz-KK <= user@domain.com

But if I search the same ID in MailControl it shows:
Message ID [1oTOGt-005qlz-KK] not found

Hi Sergio,

It's working on our server. Is this a cPanel server? Is it an incoming or outgoing email? Have you tried to search for other emails? I.e. is it just this particular one or any email that you search for?

Hi Sarah,
it is a cPanel server, the example was an incoming email.
I have tried different IDs and with the same results before writing my forum post.
When I get to my office I will do some more tests and let you give more info.

First of all, thank you Sarah for your reply.

I think I have found the issue and it is not a MailControl issue, it is the ID that changes in cPanel.
The messages IDs that I was searching in MailControl had a letter "E" at the beginning of the ID Codes, per example:
E1oTdGA-0004tS-XX
but that letter "E" should not be used for search, it was added by Exim, the right ID should be without the first "E".

That is why I never found what I wanted and MailControl was right all the time in telling me it was not found.
