Sudden Failed IMAP Logins

Hey guys,

I have a couple clients, although one in particular who has suddenly started getting blocked by css due to failed auth on IMAP.

Im receiving an email every 60 seconds from the server advising he's been permablocked. (he's whitelisted for now to keep his email working)

Nothing at his end has changed. One moment he's connecting no issues, next he's getting blocked - but he's still experiencing no errors etc while connecting with the whitelist.

He DOES have numerous devices all using the same mailbox - a couple PCs, iPhone, iPads and a Galaxy Tab. But none of them have changed and none of them are reporting connectivity issues - unless he's blocked and not whitelisted.

What may be causing his blacklisting? Can too many simultaneous connections trigger a failed auth? I have one other client who had 6 PCs in their shop using the same mailbox also getting blocked regularly.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Scott

Failed Imap authorization would be a bad password or username using his real ip address so maybe an incorrect setting in a mail client that attempts to connect every few minutes?
If its an inability to connect after so many tries in a set period of time Login Tracking can do that.
