csf Temporary IP Bans causes Perm Ban

Post by JDStallings »

When you use csf Temporary IP Bans you notice a number of people trying over and over. When they are banned, they seem to pop back after their csf Temporary IP Bans is over. It would be a great feature if you could say, if an IP hits the csf Temporary IP Bans table more then x times in y minutes, they are put in the perm ban.

I don't use temp bans myself. If a user gets locked out they learn fast to remember the password for next time so they don't. ;)

I second this one. In addition (i'll add a separate post) give me a web interface to remove the temporary bans. Right now it just shows you what the bans are with no way to remove them other than manually editing the file. I can remove perm bans, why not temporary?

Chirpy,

Are you saying that I can do this from shell??

I know I can remove TEMP from shell, but not aware I can do the above from shell.

No, I was responding to poppyq's question - "I can remove perm bans, why not temporary?"

I've noted the idea on the development list.
