Server Time Synchronization Issue

Hello All,

I have a Centos 6 cPanel server, which has only recently been setup (within the last month).
I have installed and configured CSF, and it works very well for the most part. However, I noticed that the server's time has started running slow. At first, when I tried to re-sync manually, CSF blocked the Time Server, but I resolved this, and now manual syncing works well. However, I have had to put a 1 hour cron job, because over time the server very quickly runs behind the actual time (I've seen it be up to 1 minute behind the real time after 12 hours of not syncing).

I spoke with cPanel's support team, who tried various things and confirmed that the server is working normally, and that I should check here if there are any known issues or any potential issues that CSF can cause which will result in time synchronization issues.

Please Advise,
Regards,
Shakedtom

So long as you are able to connect to the remote NTP server to update the system clock, then there's nothing in csf that should affect the running of the clock. Clock drift can be a problem on some servers (especially virtual servers) which requires regular resynching via ntpupdate.
