Excessnet, there shouldn't really be any connection between exim configuration errors and mail delivery problems, and your spamassassin/mailwatch fix, but if everything is now working for you that's great.

I´m getting the same problem here, i got 1300 emails on my Pending Messages, i try everything said in this topic, force MailScanner upgrade, restart exim, turn the Max Child Up, and nothing change, so i need go to Performance than turn off the Scan Messages, all the 1300 was deliver fine, but now i needed again to activate the MailScanner, the tech information to resolve the issue of this anti spam software is very poor, and i don´t want to pay more U$35,00 for a tech support.

i found a problem with clamd that is not find the socket on /tmp/clamd so i restart the clamd and appears to work, but i´m getting many email like this:
Jun 22 10:02:51 sda091 dovecot: POP3(
user@domain.com): Disconnected: Logged out top=0/0, retr=2/44932, del=2/2, size=44891, bytes=56/45149
Jun 22 10:02:51 sda091 dovecot: auth(default): cphulkd rejected registration attempt for dovecot with: 500 AUTH FAILED
Jun 22 10:02:51 sda091 dovecot: auth(default):
This is happen to many different user and domains do you know what could be? is this normal?

This is completely unrelated to MailScanner. It is related to cphulk which is a cpanel application.

Sarah, i configure everything, and it´s working but everyday i got problem when i arrive to the office, i don´t know why the clamd got offline, and my mail queue start growing up, today i arrive to the office and have more then 20.000 emails on mail queue, so i need to go to ssh and run /etc/init.d/clamd restart, by /var/log/maillog i got this error:
Jun 25 09:19:35 sda091 MailScanner[10653]: Cannot find Socket (/tmp/clamd) Exiting!
Jun 25 09:19:35 sda091 MailScanner[10637]: Virus Scanning: No virus scanners worked, so message batch was abandoned and re-tried!
the strange is that if i run the /etc/init.d/clamd status i got : clamd (pid 4062) is running...
What i need to do to fix this issue to not need to restart the clamd everyday in the morning?
