ClamAV is reporting it's out of date on my server where it's already been recently installed by ConfigServer so I decided to have a stab at upgrading it myself. I'm not doing very well.
I followed the instructions here:
http: / / config server. com/free/clamav.html
I downloaded the correct archive and put it in my /bin/ folder on my server (running Centos 6.3) and then extracted it fine. Did I put it in the wrong place? Should I have put it in the same place as the existing installation? Does it matter? Should I have stopped the existing installation first?
I ran the command:
./configure --disable-zlib-vcheck
Looked good, until right at the end there was some message about non standardness of the build and that I should not think of submitting any bug reports from the likely problems I would have with it.
Is that normal?
Thank you!

Re: Upgrading Clam AV Issues
There is a clamav update button within the WHM MailScanner Front-End that is the best way to update clamav when you have mailscanner installed. The message about non-standard build and not submitting any bug reports is normal, you can disregard it.
Re: Upgrading Clam AV Issues
Thanks for the quick reply. I have MailScanner installed and running - but I can't see a front end for it anywhere at all in WHM. Where should it be? How can I get it?
Re: Upgrading Clam AV Issues
You did say that we installed MailScanner for you, so you should have the front-end. It would be under Plugins at the bottom in the left-hand column. If you don't see it, please log a ticket on the helpdesk with details about when we did the install for you.
Re: Upgrading Clam AV Issues
Ahh no. What's happened is I installed MailScanner manually myself - you guys then did a server service package, which included installing ClamAV. So I have MailScanner and ClamAV but no front end. Didn't realise the front-end 'exclusive' thing existed.
You're not accepting orders online now so can't see how much the MailScanner installation is as a standalone - guess I'm best off getting you to add that in.
