I get a lot of frozen mails in my server mail queue because Mailscanner is replying to incoming mails which have dodgy attachments, saying words to the effect of:
"You have emailed a dodgy attachment which this server does not allow".
But the addresses it's sending those bounces to do not exist or are rejecting the message for some other reason, so they get frozen.
Wondering how to make Mailscanner.conf work so that for _some_ attachments, the entire email is just deleted and not replied to?
I'm thinking the following rules (ish) would mean most optimal operation:
If
1. The attachment contains a virus
OR
2. The attachment contains an archive that contains a virus
OR
3. The attachment is an executable file (.exe)
Then delete the email and do not bounce it back, at all.
But how do I set it up to do that?
Or do you envisage problems with the above suggestion?
TY!

Not sure if it's possible to do everything you want, but the settings you're looking for would be in the MailScanner Configuration with the settings that start with "Notify Senders". There are a few options you could look at. Viruses are seperated out, as well as a couple of other options.
