Say I sent a 40MB attachment, and MSFE is set to scan both incoming and outgoing attachments.

Will mailscanner/clamav scan the file as it downloads it, or downloads the whole file first and scan?

This morning my MailScanner completely broke for some reason. I noticed that MailWatch was getting SQL errors so I fixed that. But only 2 emails processed. I noticed that my Mail Queue was getting larger so I ran all the scripts from the FAQ. I even completely uninstalled MailScanner, MSFE, and MailWatch.

After I reinstalled MailScanner the queues started backing up again. Does anyone have any...

I always have no lines in rep_audit_log.php. (No rows retrieved!)

I laready edited /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/3rdparty/mailwatch/conf.php

and set: define(AUDIT, true);

It still do ot work. did I miss anything?

I noticed on two of my four servers, Rules dujour isn't installed - not sure if the installation was done before CFS was installing it or what, but they no there. :eek:

Wanted to make sure installing it manually ( ) was going to be ok to do or if there were any special paths I needed to be aware of with the way MailScanner's set up by CFS before I dive in.

Would you please hightlight the directories, files and settings that controls the Bayes size limits, expire cron jobs, etc?

I wish to have control over it and let Bayes grow to at least three or four times as big it is high now to improve ists accuracy. Of course I will track the memory usage of my server box so we can maximize the bayes accuracy whitout degrading the overall server...

I have been looking for a forum that discusses MailScanner, and I hope I've found it. If I'm posting incorrectly please advise.

While I'm not an expert, I am very very familiar with Fedora so beat me up where needed.

I have installed MailScanner on Fedora 8. I'm having a difficult time with getting an incoming connection to port 25. Mail scanner works fine on all outgoing email. But...

How easy would it be to have 'Displaying page 1 of XX ....' at the bottom of the page as well as/instead of at the top? Kind of useful after scrolling to the bottom not to have to scroll back to the top....or am I just being lazy ;)

There are no more Bayes reports on the emails received by our servers since Saturday, 26 Apr aproximately at 18:45 (See the Bayes Database information bellow).

It looks like something cleared my Bayes filters. or something is broken with Bayes filtering.

Questions:
1) Is it possible to set it not to Expiry anymore? How?
2) Is it possible to restore our bayes database to the previous state? How?...

Sometimes when I restart MailScanner on the console (service MailScanner start or restart) I see the following error:

commit ineffective with AutoCommit enabled at /usr/mailscanner/lib/MailScanner/MailWatch.pm line 102.

Any any hint?

When I set Spam List = spamhaus-ZEN spamcop.net in Mailscanner any email sent from my domain to any address in our ouwn domain gets blocked.

I checked both spamhaus and spamcop, and our IP is not in any of those lists.

What should I do to use the lists and still be possible to send emails from/to our own domain? It probably is a simple configuration option in Mailscanner.

Sometimes I receive spam emails with extremely obvious keywords both in header and the body, with no obfuscation or anything. For example I just received this:
(Sorry for the language)
Subject: Bisexual Boys On Bed Jerking Off Hardcore
Body: Dark Haired Teen Interracial Gives Head Hardcore

And here is the SA rules involved:
spam, SpamAssassin (not cached, score=14.405, required 9, BAYES_99...

{Spam?} lfd on xxxxxxx.xxxxxx.com: blocked 74.63.75.42 (journeyyellow.com)

Had similar emails markes as {SPAM?} where lfd has blocked after 5 failed attempt, although the majority of such lfd messages coming from 'root' are untouched - why would Mailscanner be marking some of these as {SPAM?}?

If I restart the MailScanner with
# service MailScanner restart
Will it restart spamasssassin too? Because I cannot restart spamassassin with:
# /etc/init.d/spamassassin restart

CS MailScanner service package installed, so if I run:
# service spamd restart
it will start wrong SA (correct?)

I noticed clamd was dead after the recent update to v0.93.

Then I tried this:

ldconfig
freshclam

Here's what I got:

Can somebody share his implementation/ opinions about greylisting. It seems like good way of lowering server load.

I tried to upgrade ClamAV throught the MailScanner interface yesterday which failed. It now shows A new version of ClamAV (Current:v New:v0.93) is available
The error reported through the logs is
clamd: /usr/local/sbin/clamd: error while loading shared libraries: libclamav.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Not sure what happened as all was well before the upgrade....

Will csf be upgrading to the latest version of MailScanner, current version installed is MailScanner - v4.66.5

Not sure how this is happening, but I have emails being sent to my email address and I have it set to send all low scoring spam to a spam mailbox, also at my domain. However, I am getting some of the spam emails in the spam mailbox and some in my regular inbox. I have tried forwarding to a different mailbox and this still occurs. I am running Mailscanner FE 2.46 on my servers (cPanel 10.9.0 R118), mailscanner with default settings and CSF 2.5. All servers are setup the same.

On one server MS FE indicates MailScanner Status: Disabled! at the top of the page and the mailScanner Enable button gives only the enable option rather than disable option, indicating MS is not running. I have...

Just today, I got over a thousand spam messages all labeled as {spam?0} and the From does not have anything shown. In the expanded headers there is info, all of them vary.

Is there a bug here!? What else can I do to filter these out?
I thought about the filter from cpanel but there is no option to select regex does not match , so can I use regex matches then use !\w+ for the From field?
