My bayes rules stopped processing a couple days ago & I need a reminder as to how this could happen when I have my bayes rebuild setting set to zero.
Assuming my db was corrupt or something, how long does it take to get a DB built back up where bayes rules kick into gear again? What is the general rule of thumb?
My SA Lint report is clean, and here's by Bayes Stats from MailWatch, in case it...
My customer's emails are being blocked if they have a .png or .mov file attached to the email. For the life of me, I can't figure out what to change to allow these attachments to go through.
I'm using ConfigServer Security & Firewall - csf v3.39. The config file in WHM doesn't show the files.
Starting about 4 days ago (July 14, 2008), I've been getting a couple hundred e-mails a day that are making it through the spam checking process because SA times out.
My users are starting to complain.
So... thinking about it, I believe this is around the time I upgraded to the most recent ClamAV. Could this be the culprit? Is there a way to downgrade, or maybe I should to something else...
We have had at least 2 instances of a virus getting through mailscanner today. Never before have we had any get through to my knowledge in 18 months of using mailscanner
The email have a zip file attached - images**.zip - I recall some time ago that similar named attached virus (or back-door Trojans) were prolific some time ago, but mailscanner always caught them.
Just wondering if you've come across this before.
I enabled logging this morning as it's been happening for a couple of weeks now.
I normally have daily failures. These are the messages just before it fails.
We have a problem where one of our cpanel customers has an email forwarder sending emails on to their ISP address. They are getting hundreds of spam emails which mailscanner is marking as highscoring spam. As a result their ISP is blocking much of their mail, including legitimate emails. When I look into mailwatch it shows the spam emails are recognised as highscoring spam but still forwarded to...
I have MailScanner on three servers, as of the start of the month on one serve ronly spam has been getting through even if I lower the setting to say 4 and 15
Setup:
- I have watermarking enabled in MS 4.70.7 (just upgraded to ensure I got all the latest watermarking bug fixes in this release).
- Instead of spam to the Treat Invalid Watermarks With No Sender as Spam , I have a value of 5 , which according to the text is simply supposed to add 5.0 points to the SpamAssassin score. Snippet: If it is...
I am getting a ton of spam to cpanel@hostname.damin.com So I added:
FromOrTo: *@sabrina.syo.com yes
to the spam.scanning.rules
and I added:
FromOrTo: *@sabrina.syo.com store delete
to spam.action.rules
I get less spam, but now the messages
from:root@sabrina.syo.com
to:root@sabrina.syo.com
have data like this in the subject line:
{Definitely Spam - Score: 28} sabrina.syo.com 06/25/08:05.01...
I'm bumping it down to stable right now to see if that helps. I restarted all services and it keeps on failing, and I get a 500 error when I try to access any of the configserver scripts from WHM too. Yay cPanel! :D
I'll post back with my results when the downgrade is complete.
I have one domain that's been on one of my VPS's for a while now and for the past couple of weeks it's started coming up daily in a cPanel -> MailScanner Report email:
I get the email at midnight every night at the moment. Is there a way for me to stop this as the domain isn't new and has always had it's email services turned on!?
Hi,
I am not sure its the right forum but lately I am getting high volume of spam which pass through mailscanner like a wind through a desert.
Almost all mails are treated correctly. MS, SA, clam works like a charm but theres small count of mails (comparing to whole mail count) which seems to baypass all checking
All of them dont have sender, are short and dont trigger any SA rule. Even If I...
We had a power outage on a machine a few days ago, it went back up and everything looked to be good however, MailScanner is not doing its thing.
The ConfigServer Mail Queue plugin on WHM shows that we have over 8000 emails in the Pending queue. MailScanner is awake and is delivering mail as it pleases, like once every minute we may see a Completed in exim_mainlog. The server load is just...

This morning my MailScanner completely broke for some reason. I noticed that MailWatch was getting SQL errors so I fixed that. But only 2 emails processed. I noticed that my Mail Queue was getting larger so I ran all the scripts from the FAQ. I even completely uninstalled MailScanner, MSFE, and MailWatch.
After I reinstalled MailScanner the queues started backing up again. Does anyone have any...
