Turns out it's as simple as disabling brute_force_log_scanner in directadmin.conf

Just getting an error when trying to access the CSF interface in WHM :

Unable to connect to configserver.com at this time: Unrecognized character \x1B

Upgrading through SSH to the newest version did not change this.
