check_mail_permissions rampant in logs
Over the last few months on one of my servers I have been seeing this error (warning or whatever); "check_mail_permissions could not determine the sender domain" slowly increasing in number. It started with a couple of users on one domain when they sent mail remotely from their office out ...

Re: Mailwatch Errors
DBI is the perl database interface that MailScanner uses to log email to the MailScanner database, if MailScanner cannot load the DBI it cannot log to MailScanner. I saw this on a couple of boxes myself this morning. "service MailScanner restart" at the command line fixed it.

Aha! You DID help Sarah. :) Since the filter is processed AFTER MailScanner I now know I was wrong. I thought the filter came first, and was looking to MailWatch to tell me if the mail was being delivered. But now I see that MS is processing it, storing it and logging it to mailwatch; THEN the filte...

MailScanner delivering System Filtered messages?
I want to set up some rules in antivirus.exim for some targeted spam that is too large for MailScanner. When the rule triggers, I do get a log entry saying the message was cancelled. Then it just gets delivered anyway. I am wondering if it is because MS has a deliver statement in MS settings for non...

I used mke2fs to create a filesystem from an empty file on that centos system, IIRC. I stopped all services that write to/read from tmp, copy contents to a temp dir in root, unmount then remove and recreate the the filesystem, then remount as tmp. Not sure you can do it if your system is not set up ...

The error was part of the upgrade process in MailScanner. Clicked upgrade through WHM. But, yes, it is a perl module that is not upgrading but I wasn't sure if it needed to be brought up to the latest version. MS seems to work fine with the old version. And cPanel script check passes just fine. So I...

Net::SSLeay Problem When Upgrading
Hi, The last couple of times I have updated MS on one older RH/CentOS box I have gotten this error, but things seemed to chug along and I left it alone. I would like to bump it off the server now. Here's the error: # Failed test 'use Net::SSLeay;' # at t/local/03_use.t line 8. # Tried to use 'Net::S...

Last night I increased /tmp from 256MB to 1GB on that box. In the last 5 hours clamd has not failed and the problem seems solved. I do see it removing stale socket in the log, something I've never seen before, but that option is turned on. So it does look like that was the issue and not a set up or ...

Thanks for the help Sarah. Sadly, this issue is back for my client after their latest upcp. Looking at the log I see: Sat Jun 7 10:48:28 2008 -> No stats for Database check - forcing reload Sat Jun 7 10:48:28 2008 -> Reading databases from /usr/local/share/clamav Sat Jun 7 10:48:30 2008 -> ERROR: re...
