Re: spamassassin custom scores not working
Hey bacngoctuan, here is what I finally found on my server~ Look in the /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf file. See if there is an "include" statement that is adding other .cf files to the list of configuration files that are checked. I found that our hosting company had sent out an email re...

spamassassin custom scores not working
Hi, running MailScanner v4.84.5 and in the past have always put custom rules scores in /usr/mailscanner/etc/spamassassin.user.prefs.conf Recently the custom scores in this file are being ignored and a score from somewhere else is being used. For example in spamassassin.user.prefs.conf I have score U...

Re: Deciding which blocklists to use
Thanks for your analysis of the block lists in CSF. I too had many of the same questions you answered about which blocklists to use and your analysis helped!

Re: allow_mx_to_ip in exim configuration?
For future reference regarding sending email to a mail server that incorrectly have their MX record listed as an IP address rather than a fully qualified domain name, the solution is to add "allow_mx_to_ip" in the options section of your exim.conf, exim_outgoing.com and exim.local.conf (or...

allow_mx_to_ip in exim configuration?
Hi, we have a domain that we send email to often that has an IP address for an MX record. Wrong, I know but nevertheless, since I moved a new customer over to our servers they can't email to this domain any longer. I have added allow_mx_to_ip = yes (or true, have tried both), but I still get the bel...

Re: Long Subject spam
This is more a spamassassin (SA) issue than mailscanner. The below configuration for SA has helped stop the long subject spam for our servers. It assumes you are using MailScanner in conjunction with SA 3.3.1. I found this rule somewhere on the net, but don't remember where so I can't give them prop...

I am seeing some other mailscanner/clamav errors in the logs, but I'm not sure where to go from here to solve the problem: Cannot find Socket (/tmp/clamd) Exiting! : 70 Time(s) Cannot lock /var/spool/MailScanner/incoming/Locks/clamavBusy.lock, No such file or directory : 3 Time(s) Error in configura...

Clamd file size limit exceeded?
I just started using Mailscanner/Mailscanner FE about a month ago, ConfigServer installed it for me. I'm using version 4.74.16, and version v0.94.2 of ClamAV; CENTOS 5.2, cPanel 11.24.4 There have been no updates to the server, and CP updates are run manually. This evening at 5pm clamd stopped and w...
