Hello.
I've been trying to find out exactly what IS faststart. All I can find are references to how to start it or stop it. I can't find out within the csf configserver tech notes WHAT IT DOES?
What am I missing?
Thanks

*ERROR* IPSET: [ipset v7.1: Missing mandatory argument to command add]
I'm clueless on what this means:
*ERROR* IPSET: [ipset v7.1: Missing mandatory argument to command add]
and what is to be done about it.
Alma Linux

Appreciate some guidance.

Re: How to force to reload a blocklist?
Confused could use some help. The instructions state: # After making any changes to this file you must restart csf and then lfd # # If you want to redownload a blocklist you must first delete # /var/lib/csf/csf.block.NAME and then restart csf and then lfd That's easy enough to understand but when I ...

Images only display when csf is off
Hello. I'm having problems with outbound emails that contain links to images not displaying in the email unless I disable csf. I can't imagine what setting within csf is causing this to happen, so: 1) where can I get a fresh install csf.conf file to compare it with and: 2) anyone have a clue why ima...

Block inbound ASN# but allow outbound for email
Hello. I hope everyone is safe and healthy. Using CSF on Centos server. Love it. Here is a conundrum. This ASN is microsoft: ASN8075 When I insert that into the csf to block, it blocks it no problem but also doesn't allow me to send emails to subsribers in that range - keep getting DNS request timeo...

what is a .new file and where is it explained in csf docs?
Whenever csf updates it produces an output like: ‘csf.blocklists’ -> ‘/etc/csf/csf.blocklists.new’ this is totally confusing. If it's "new" that would imply it is replacing the "old" file. Yet, how can it be new AND functional if it's labelled something like "csf.blocklists....

ConfigServer update deletes settings
Hello.
I hope everyone is safe and healthy.
The most recent update (Oct. 4, 2021) of ConfigServer wiped out all my previous settings. Does it make a backup somewhere?
Thank you.

Re: Block countries but allow port 53/dns
SOLVED: I used the following solution provided by https://forum.configserver.com/viewtopic.php?t=7558&sid=d0d3e273b6ef8340274f7144b6671ebb Case 2 ( recommended ) Block few countries but still allow them to reach some ports Example: Block China Russia and Nigeria except http and https CC_DENY_POR...

Block countries but allow port 53/dns
Hello,
I hope everyone is well.
I have a need to block countries, but allow dns querries into the server from everywhere, including those countries I've blocked.
What is the simplest solution with CSF for this?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Method to allow port 53 while blocking many countries?
Hello and I hope everyone is healthy and safe. I manage a server which gets a lot of malicious hits from outside US. I use CC_DENY which works well. However, as mail is being sent out and oftentimes some foreign recipients do a dns check for dns on the server, it is also blocking that which degrades...
